Fire Retardant Shirts
These shirts are suitable for welders, firefighters and offshore. The shirts are made of a fabric that is difficult to catch fire when exposed to heat and flames. This means that the wearers of these shirts have temporary protection against heat and flames. To provide perfect protection, it is necessary to purchase matching work trousers and work jacket.
Fire retardant or inherently fire retardant?
Ordinary fire-retardant clothing has a fire-retardant coating. This coating disappears the more often you wash the clothing. If you often wear fire-retardant clothing, we advise you to purchase inherently fire-retardant clothing. This clothing is made of fabric that contains fire-retardant fibers, such as modacrylic. The inherently fire-retardant clothing remains fire-retardant no matter how often you wash it.
Maintenance and service life of fire-retardant clothing
The lifespan of fire-retardant clothing with coating is 12 to 24 months. This has to do with how intensively the clothing is used. Frequent washing and tumble drying of clothing reduces the lifespan of the clothing. Contamination of the FR/AS on work clothing can destroy the flame-retardant effect of the clothing. The antistatic effect of the clothing is permanent and as long as you follow the manufacturer's instructions for use, they will remain intact.
