Safety glasses: lenses and fit
The standard Milwaukee safety glasses have an adjustable, removable nose bridge and a flexible frame. Performance and Enhanced feature scratch-resistant and anti-fog lenses. Both ranges offer different lens colours; Performance also has a photochromic version.
A clear lens lets through plenty of light and is practical for indoor work. Tinted versions are intended for other lighting conditions. An anti-scratch and anti-fog coating helps maintain usable vision, while the lens version and marking determine the intended application.
Over-glasses or a magnifying reading section
Over-glasses are worn over your own glasses. The roomy frame surrounds your existing glasses, without having to stack two ordinary pairs. Milwaukee offers clear and tinted over-glasses.
Safety glasses with a reading section provide local magnification for close work, in strengths from +1 to +2.5. This is a different solution from over-glasses: the reading section helps with close-up tasks, while over-glasses allow you to keep your own prescription glasses underneath.
Goggles with different ventilation designs
Goggles fit more closely around the eyes than ordinary safety glasses. The range includes unvented, indirectly vented and compact versions. The compact version takes up less space; the unvented and vented models differ in their construction around the lens. For splash and liquid protection, the choice must match the particular version and task.
Visors and face shields on a BOLT helmet
On Milwaukee BOLT helmets, visors and face shields form part of the system. A visor protects the area in front of the eyes; a face shield covers more of the face. Clear, tinted and mesh versions are available, with compact or universal carriers. A mesh screen has a different application from a solid lens.
A hard case with a soft lining is available for storing separate safety glasses. If you also wear hearing protection, the combined fit of glasses, helmet and ear defenders matters. You will find other protection in the Milwaukee range.
