Earplugs, cords or bands
Foam earplugs conform to the ear and are available in different pack sizes. Reusable silicone earplugs with a cord stay together as a pair and come with a storage case. This makes them practical when you use the same hearing protection repeatedly.
The Milwaukee earplug band can be worn over the head, under the chin or behind the neck. Its arms rotate to adjust the position. The band uses replaceable foam and TPR plugs. This provides a different wearing style from separate earplugs without requiring a helmet.
BOLT ear defenders for helmet mounting
BOLT ear defenders surround the ear and fit BOLT 100 and BOLT 200 helmets, in the middle or rear slots. They are height-adjustable and can rotate. The LP version has an SNR value of 30 dB; for HP it is 33 dB.
SNR is an overall attenuation rating from testing, not a fixed reduction achieved by every wearer in every situation. Alongside the noise conditions, the fit of the plug or ear defender matters. The combination with glasses or other head equipment must also remain comfortable and well fitted.
Bluetooth with passive protection from the ear tips
The L4 RLEPB lets you listen to audio and accept or reject phone calls. Jobsite Awareness lets you adjust ambient sound. Passive hearing protection comes from the tips in the ear: the stated SNR is 26 dB for silicone tips and 32 dB for foam tips.
The audio and ambient-sound functions do not change the importance of a good fit. Your chosen hearing protection must still suit the noise and workplace arrangements.
Replacement tips for the right system
Foam and double-layer silicone tips in different sizes are available for the L4 RLEPB. They are components of this electronic system, not separate standalone earplugs. For the full brand range, visit Milwaukee PPE, workwear and accessories; separate glasses and helmet-mounted visors are listed under eye protection.
