Securing tools with a lanyard
Milwaukee offers shock-absorbing, retractable and wrist-based solutions for tools. A shock-absorbing lanyard slows a falling tool gradually. A retractable version keeps the free length shorter; a wrist strap keeps small tools close to hand.
Tool weight, the stated load capacity and connections must be compatible. Colour coding helps identify the load capacity. Carabiners, loops and other connectors together form the connection to the tool. The comparison of Milwaukee lanyards and accessories explains the differences. This is tool tethering, not personal fall protection.
Knee pads for different surfaces
Flexible knee pads have lightweight foam padding and adjustable straps. The hard version combines an abrasion-resistant cap with thick foam padding and a gel zone for work on rough surfaces. The premium non-marring version uses a non-marking exterior for more delicate surfaces.
These versions have different performance levels: level 1 for the flexible and premium non-marring models, and level 2 for the hard knee pad. There are also EVA inserts for the knee pockets of the FREEFLEX work trousers. A separate strapped knee pad and an insert inside trousers are different ways of wearing knee protection.
Cooling towels and cooling liners
The cooling range includes PVA or microfibre towels and a cooling liner. Water activates the cooling effect; when it fades, the material can be wetted again. BOLT helmets have their own cooling sweatbands and liners matched to the particular helmet model.
Caps, beanies and neck coverings
A trucker cap has a ripstop front panel and mesh for ventilation. The performance cap uses quick-drying, moisture-wicking material. Options for colder days include a double-layer acrylic knitted beanie and a low-profile WORKSKIN beanie with a soft fleece interior.
WORKSKIN balaclavas and neck coverings add a layer around the head and neck. The version determines whether the focus is warmth, wind or warm-weather use. They are clothing accessories, not respiratory protection or a replacement for a safety helmet. For other clothing layers, explore Milwaukee workwear.
