Dero or Hector: where is the stretch?
Dero is made from canvas containing 98% cotton and 2% elastane. The main fabric provides 2-way stretch. Hector has a different construction: ripstop made from 65% polyester and 35% cotton, with 4-way stretch panels at the crotch and knees. These trousers therefore provide extra stretch in areas that move a lot when you squat or kneel.
The fabric weight differs too: Dero has a main fabric of 275 g/m² and Hector of 210 g/m². Dero therefore uses a heavier main fabric with a higher cotton content; Hector combines a lower fabric weight with strategically placed stretch panels.
Pockets and reinforcement at work
Dero features Oxford reinforcements and knee pad pockets, among other details. This coated Oxford reinforcement fabric is called Pro-Reforce. Hector has knee pad pockets with Cordura stretch reinforcement and a hammer loop. These are practical differences if you regularly kneel at work or carry tools on your trousers.
A knee pad pocket is not itself a knee pad. For Dero, Herock specifies the combination with knee pad 21MI0901. The right combination of trousers and knee pads therefore matters, not just having a pocket at the knee.
Fit, short legs and high visibility
Herock also has women’s styles, including Athena and Dero Woman. For days when shorts suit your tasks, there are Herock work shorts. If you need high-visibility clothing, the Herock High Vis collection is a more targeted choice than ordinary work trousers with just a reflective detail.
You can find matching tops, footwear and accessories in the Herock workwear and safety footwear.
Extra leg length with an extendable hem
Dero and Hector have an extendable hem that allows you to lengthen the leg by 5 cm. Extra fabric is folded into the bottom hem; releasing the intended stitching allows you to unfold it. This changes the leg length, not the waist size or the fit of the rest of the trousers. Read more about this and other details in Herock technologies and materials.
Industry work trousers for industrial laundering
Ivo and Axo are part of the Industry line. Both have 2-way stretch and a main fabric containing 65% polyester, 32% cotton and 3% elastane. The catalogue specifies industrial laundering to EN ISO 15797, procedure 8A, for these models. Axo also has reinforced knee pad pockets. This gives you another selection criterion beyond colour or the amount of stretch.

Frequently asked questions
Are all Herock work trousers made entirely from stretch fabric?
No. Dero has a main fabric with 2-way stretch. Hector has 4-way stretch in separate panels at the crotch and knees; the rest of the main fabric is polyester-cotton ripstop.
Are knee pads automatically included with trousers that have knee pad pockets?
Knee pad pockets are compartments for knee pads, not the pads themselves. Herock specifies the combination of Dero with knee pad 21MI0901.
