HEXON: heat within the garment
HEXON uses nano-carbon heating elements to distribute targeted warmth. The control on the clothing has three heat settings. The layout differs by garment: the HEXON hoodie and puffer gilet have three zones at the chest and back. On the HEXON jackets with five zones, the pockets are also heated. The number of zones therefore does not mean that every version heats the same areas.
A heated jacket, hoodie or gilet?
- A heated jacket combines heating with coverage for your arms. The HEXON range includes TOUGHSHELL stretch jackets and padded puffer jackets.
- A heated gilet leaves your arms free and adds warmth around your upper body. The puffer gilet has a lightweight ripstop outer fabric and can also be worn as a mid-layer.
- A heated hoodie combines a cotton blend with a fleece inside and reinforced pockets. It is an alternative for anyone who wants the fit of a work hoodie with extra warmth at the chest and back.
There are also HEXON puffer jackets and gilets with a women’s fit. The shape of the garment still matters: a gilet is not a jacket with heated sleeves.
An M12 battery or a flat power source
M12 HEXON clothing runs on the M12 battery system. The models described have a pass-through pocket that allows the battery to be worn at the front or back of the garment. The IRPSU3 Flat Power Source is a flat power unit that offers an alternative to the regular M12 battery. Combined with HEXON clothing, it lets you adjust heat levels and zones through the Milwaukee Heated Gear app.
Runtime depends on the garment, power source and selected heat level. A high heat setting uses more energy than a low setting. A single fixed runtime therefore does not suit the entire collection.
Heating does not replace your other clothing layers
A base layer, mid-layer and outer layer each serve a different purpose. The WORKSKIN base layers for cold weather wick away sweat and have a brushed inside; heating actively adds warmth. This is useful when outdoor work also involves standing still for longer periods. You can read more about base layers and regular hoodies under Milwaukee workwear.
If you are looking for a jacket without a battery, the FREEFLEX softshell and insulated Milwaukee work jackets offer other options. Beanies and neck coverings are listed among the Milwaukee accessories.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a smartphone to control the heat?
No. HEXON clothing has a control on the garment with three heat settings. The app is an additional option when you use the compatible IRPSU3 Flat Power Source.
