Reduce, Reuse & Rewear

The label of the Rewear collection contains the words Reduce, Reuse and Rewear, but what does this actually mean?

Reduce: The production of circular clothing reduces water use, energy and C02 emissions. And a reduction in the use of new raw materials.

Reuse: This refers to the collection of worn work clothing. New textile products can be produced with this material.

Rewear: Reusing materials in Tricorp work clothing. For example, a worn softshell jacket is recycled to use the polyester for a new softshell jacket. Or recycling a PET bottle into PET polyester to produce a fabric for clothing.

Organic cotton

Organic cotton is better for the environment. It is a sustainable alternative to regular cotton and is just as good in terms of quality. For example, about 90% less water is used in growing organic cotton, because mainly rainwater is used and a more efficient irrigation system. In addition, organic cotton is better for the soil because only ecological pesticides and fertilizers are used and no pesticides, as is the case with regular cotton. So organic cotton really represents the future.

Recycled polyester

Tricorp uses, among other things, PET bottles that are very suitable for processing into a new strong polyester fiber. The quality of the yarn is important for a longer lifespan of your work clothing. After all, a longer lifespan is also sustainable.
