To achieve this, most manufacturers use polyester fibers. These not only insulate; they also weigh very little. The wearing comfort of these fleece vests is therefore good. However, polyester cannot be used for all fleece work clothing. For example, the material is unsuitable for flame-retardant fleece clothing, because it will melt when it comes into contact with fire. A mixed fabric of cotton and modacrylic is therefore usually chosen for these models. These fleece vests are slightly heavier, but are a reliable choice when it comes to protection against heat and flames.
