Welke overall heeft u nodig voor uw werkzaamheden?

Which overalls do you need for your work?

Widely used in a wide variety of industries: overalls. Primarily, overalls seem to protect your clothing and keep it clean, but today, overalls usually have many more functions. Every day, overalls support many employees around the world during their work. But what types of overalls are there, and which ones do you need for your work and circumstances?

1. Flame retardant overalls

There are special flame retardant overalls that protect you from flames, sparks or hot metal splashes. These suits ensure that your clothing is less likely to catch fire. Flame-retardant overalls often have long sleeves and trouser legs, but are also available in the form of dungarees, also known as American overalls. Among other things, the Roots overalls are known for their flame-retardant properties. When welding, you benefit from a work overall made of flame-retardant material and this type of overall is also widely used in the offshore industry.

2. Antistatic overalls

Antistatic safety clothing and overalls prevent sparks from electrostatic charging, which can cause fire or explosions. An important property, which is mandatory in many sectors under the umbrella standard EN1149. Well-known brands for antistatic and flame-retardant overalls are Portwest and Roots. For light antistatic (disposable) overalls 3M is a well-known brand. Overalls with both antistatic and flame-retardant properties are mainly used in the offshore sector.

3. Dungarees / American Overalls

Yes, the classic dungarees still exist! The classic dungarees are made of jeans but the work dungarees have undergone a metamorphosis. The dungarees in our range are suitable for intensive work and are nowadays usually a American Overalls called. These American overalls or dungarees often have adjustable hammer loops, knee pockets, ruler pocket, phone pocket and thigh pockets. If it is not important for your work that your arms are covered, the American overall or dungarees are a very useful alternative to the traditional overall.

4. Disposable overalls

Disposable overalls are often white thin overalls and are suitable for single use. Disposable overalls are used, for example, when processing chemicals or asbestos, but also in the food industry. Brands that supply disposable overalls are, for example, 3M and Ansell. The disposable overalls in our store are designed with the aim of minimizing the risk of contamination. They are all equipped with a hood, so you really only need work shoes , work gloves , safety glasses and a dust or gas mask to be fully protected. Although these overalls are thrown away after one use, they are produced with care.

5. Winter overalls

Waterproof overalls

In addition to standard and summer overalls, there are also options for colder days winter overalls designed. These overalls are lined, water-repellent and virtually windproof. The good lining makes this workwear particularly suitable for winter. A suitable overall for winter is lined with lightweight materials that offer maximum insulation. If you also work outside in bad weather, it is wise to take these conditions into account.

6. Waterproof overalls / rain overalls

Waterproof overalls are available in various designs and are not only seen with people in construction or industry, but also often with fishermen, for example. This overall has few seams and is waterproof. This makes this type of overall ideal for working outside in the wet seasons. These waterproof overalls differ in lining from winter overalls and are therefore better used on (warm) rainy days or in the food sector. A winter overall is often too warm then. There are also waterproof overalls that are resistant to chemicals, among other things.
