1. Sorting is key
It sounds simple, but sorting your laundry by color is vital. Separate white, colored, and dark clothes to prevent discoloration. Turn all clothes inside out to protect prints and embroidery.2. Temperature: Know the limits
It all starts with washing your workwear at the right temperature. Although higher temperatures may seem better for removing stains, they can damage your clothing. Follow the advice label and do not wash above 60°C to protect the fabric and any prints and embroidery.3. Dryer: Prevention is better than cure
Avoid the temptation to put your workwear in the dryer after washing. The heat can cause shrinkage and discoloration, and even damage the logos. Hang your clothing to dry to extend its lifespan. In the dryer it is often hotter than 60 degrees Celsius, this is often the cause of shrinkage of the fabric and cracking of the prints and it can even come loose. Because the drum rotates there is a lot of friction, this makes the clothing wear out faster.4. Do not overfill
A well-filled washing machine may seem efficient, but it can be at the expense of cleaning and wrinkle-free results. Do not use more than two third of your washing machine's capacity for optimum results. This way, the clothes have space and stains are better removed in the washing process. An additional advantage is that the clothes rub against each other less and therefore wear less or fluff less.5. Powder vs. Liquid Detergent
Choose powder detergent instead of liquid. It has a better cleaning power and helps keep your workwear clean and fresh for longer. Avoid fabric softener, as this can reduce the effectiveness of the detergent and damage the fabric.6. Pre-treatment of stains
Stubborn stains? Let the laundry soak first to remove them more easily. Nowadays there are many products on the market that dissolve stains faster. Make sure that they are suitable for your clothing. You can also let it soak “old school” in e.g. Biotex.7. Don't wait too long to wash
For all clothing it is better not to wash it days later. Stains become more difficult to remove. They then penetrate deep into the fibers and can become permanent.8. Iron smart
Protect the prints and embroidery by not ironing over them. This prevents the release of threads and transfers, so that your workwear always remains recognizable.Tip
